"Metro" is the police department for most of Clark County. (Only Boulder City, Henderson and North Las Vegas have their own police departments.) The department is run by an elected County Sheriff and is budgeted separately from the rest of the county.

Metro has its own child abuse and neglect unit, which performs many of the same functions as the CPS investigative unit of DFS. Of course, it also produces the majority of juvenile arrests.
