Formerly a contract juvenile public defender, until the office was adequately staffed. (Because his wife is a public defender, he cannot take conflict assignments in delinquency.) Roske has argued before the U.S. Supreme Court (article. The appeal was denied: article). Also represented the mother Maria Wells in a controversial divorce case before Judge Moss, where the son later killed himself with his father's gun.
