Comments

A minimum security juvenile correction camp for boys, located near Mt. Charleston. See our Photo Tour and Overview. Run by the county (unlike Caliente, which is run by the state). The camp is a cluster of barracks, at an elevation of 8500 feet on the side of Angel Peak. Formerly a U.S. Air Force facility, called the Las Vegas Air Force Station, that maintained radar domes on adjoining Angel Peak. The area can get significant snowfall in winter. Inmates can walk away from this facility, but it's a long walk.

Boys at the camp are supervised by "probation officers" and are technically on probation.
