St. Jude's is licensed by the State of Nevada as a group Foster Care facility and can accommodate as many as 48 children. We employ the St. Jude's Ranch Teaching Family Model of Care, a treatment program that nurtures our young people in a family style environment. The campus has eight large homes. Each household is managed by two Teaching Parents and an Assistant Teaching Parent, staff members who are with the children 24 hours a day. There are 5-6 youths in each home. They learn how to live together, trust one another and function as normal families.

Individual treatment plans and educational support programs are developed for each resident. Youth learn social, academic and independent living skills. At the same time, every effort is made to help them enjoy normal teen-age lives. All Ranch children attend public schools in Boulder City. They are encouraged to take part in school activities and many have become stars at Boulder City High School. Our young people are also encouraged to work, either in Boulder City or on campus.
