The full issue is available here as a PDF File (254k). (Requires Adobe Acrobat or equivalent, already installed on most computers. For authenticity, the newsletter should be printed on canary (yellow) paper.) NOTE: The latest version says "Revised 6/27 7am" in the masthead near the date.

This issue is also known as "The Mother of All Newsletters" (MOAN). An Executive Summary is available (but do not read it if you prefer a mystery).

"I Am Who I Am"

Update July 7: The internet lurker who told me to "Go Back to Boston" (page 5 of newsletter) identified himself as "I am who I am." An astute reader (S.M.) points out that this, in fact, is the name of God (or someone who thinks he is God). In the Book of Exodus, Chapter 3, Moses encounters a burning bush, which turns out to be God. The bush gives Moses a bunch of instructions.
¹³Moses said to God, "Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they ask me, 'What is his name?' Then what shall I tell them?"

¹⁴God said to Moses, "I am who I am."

You may recall the scene from the 1956 Hollywood version, where Moses was played by Charlton Heston and the bush was played by some guy with a booming voice.
