"I Am Who I Am"
Update July 7:
The internet lurker
who told me to "Go Back to Boston" (page 5 of newsletter)
identified himself as "I am who I am."
An astute reader (S.M.) points out that this, in fact,
is the name of God (or someone who thinks he is God).
In the Book of Exodus, Chapter 3,
Moses encounters a burning bush, which turns out to be
God. The bush gives Moses a bunch of instructions.
13Moses said to God, "Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they ask me, 'What is his name?' Then what shall I tell them?"
You may recall the scene from the 1956 Hollywood version, where Moses
was played by Charlton Heston and the bush was played by some
guy with a booming voice.
